Mechatronics & LHP
Below is an explanation of how LHP Software fits into the picture when referring to mechatronics.
Mechatronics is a word the describes the intersection between the embedded electronic control systems that LHP Software works on and the mechanical machine that LHP controls. LHP's experience in the embedded controls market is directly related to the mechatronics world. While we don't do the mechanical design and integration work, we do have expertise and competence in the electronic software involved in these systems.
The term mechatronics differentiates the work from other genre's of software usually because large and powerful machinery is involved. While the embedded software skills needed to deliver consumer electronics are similar to those needed in a large piece of machinery, often times the safety and testing levels needed for the machine impose more rigorous development and testing processes because damage to property and personnel is more likely. Mechatronics tends to be a term that embodies these unique challenges.
